Sheffield Wednesday have sought to ease football fans' fears that the Yorkshire side could soon enter administration, after they were issued with a third winding-up order by HM Revenue and Customs (HMRC).
The League One football club will return to the High Court for another hearing on November 17th 2010, after a last-minute loan from the Co-operative Bank allowed them to stave off the attentions of HMRC's previous petition last month.
"Sheffield Wednesday would like to inform supporters that their club is not about to be wound up, nor is it about to enter into administration," a spokesman for the club explained.
The representative added that discussions with an unnamed group of investors have proved "very positive" and said chairman Howard Wilkinson and chief executive Nick Parker are "continuing to work tirelessly" in search of a solution.
Wilkinson recently confronted disgruntled football fans protesting about the club's financial woes and warned Sheffield Wednesday could fall into receivership if he and Parker walk away from Hillsborough.
