Liverpool football fans have warned that they could be prepared to stage a fresh protest to express their dissatisfaction with the Royal Bank of Scotland's (RBS) handling of the club's sale.
Supporters' group Spirit of Shankly claimed the recent demonstration ahead of the team's fixture against newly-promoted Blackpool is just the beginning and similar events could take place near RBS-owned facilities in future.
"We will be continuing to protest up until the last day," said spokesman James McKenna. "We will protest at matches, but also at the banks and everyone involved in any sale. Unless they listen to us, we will take the action to them."
An estimated 7,000 Liverpool followers walked from Lower Breck Road to Anfield stadium ahead of the match yesterday (October 3rd 2010) to voice their opposition to the continued ownership of Tom Hicks and George Gillett.
Last week, several well-known fans including Ricky Tomlinson and singer Ian McCulloch appeared in a short film criticising the American duo.
