Liverpool football fans are planning to stage a sit-in demonstration at an upcoming home game to protest against Tom Hicks and George Gillett's ongoing ownership of the football club.
Supporters' group Spirit of Shankly (SoS) also criticised Barclays Capital for its role in the Merseyside outfit's current predicament, claiming that recent events have show the firm is looking at refinancing the current debt rather than seeking new buyers.
"We would like as many supporters as possible to make their feelings known towards the owners during the Sunderland match," SoS stated. "Following the match, irrespective of the result, we intend to hold a sit-in protest."
The group also plans to organise further direct action prior to Liverpool's clash with Blackpool, with a mass march planned on the day of the fixture.
SoS' announcement came as co-owner Hicks was told by private equity firm Blackstone that he would not receive funding to help him buy out cohort George Gillett's stake in the club.
