Haringey Council planning officers will make a recommendation on the future of Tottenham Hotspur's proposal for the redevelopment of White Hart Lane next week, it has been claimed.
According to Goal.com, the local authority's planning committee will then make a final decision on whether or not the project will progress on September 30th 2010, after considering an initial report due to be filed in around one week's time.
Tottenham Hotspur's earlier plans were rejected by the council following objections from English Heritage and had to be amended further to accommodate a Sainsbury's supermarket which is key to funding the stadium's overhaul.
The football club hope construction work at White Hart Lane will get underway next season and will bring the ground's capacity up to 56,250 by the start of 2013-14.
Although there had been speculation the north London outfit could consider a move to the new Olympic Stadium in Stratford, it appears a switch to the venue is not a realistic option.
