Former Sheffield Wednesday boss Chris Turner is reportedly involved with a takeover bid for the troubled League One football club, who are still fighting against a winding-up order.
According to the Daily Mail, Turner - who resigned from his post as Hartlepool United's caretaker manager last month - has acted as a broker between Sheffield Wednesday's board of directors and a Scandinavian consortium.
The ex-Manchester United goalkeeper could be set to become director of football at Hillsborough if the deal goes ahead and the club face a race against time to install new owners before they return to the High Court tomorrow (September 8th 2010).
One-time West Ham United chief Eggert Magnusson had been linked with a bid for Sheffield Wednesday, but his interest appears to have stalled and the new group of investors seem to be in pole position.
American sports investment company Club 9 were heavily linked with a buyout earlier this year, but talks between the two parties ground to a halt.
