Arsenal football fans have reiterated their opposition to any sale of the north London outfit to high-profile suitors such as Stan Kroenke or Alisher Usmanov in a new poll.
According to the Arsenal Supporters' Trust, just 13 per cent of supporters are hoping for American tycoon Kroenke to attempt a takeover, while Russian oligarch Usmanov is even less popular, with four per cent favouring a buyout.
"Many said that, most importantly, directors of Arsenal should always have the club's best interests at heart," the organisation observed. "Several pointed to the debt-related difficulties that other [English Premier League] clubs are facing."
Supporters also expressed little support for increases in ticket prices, citing concerns that some may be excluded from attending matches at the Emirates Stadium as a result, while 89 per cent rejected any reliance on a wealthy benefactor.
Shareholder Lady Nina Bracewell-Smith is still believed to be searching for a buyer for her 15.9 per cent stake in the football club, the sale of which could spark a takeover scramble.
