Football fans of English Premier League side Manchester United have been encouraged to snub their new kit, which will be released in time for the kick-off of the new season in August.
A spokesman from the Independent Manchester United Supporters Association (IMUSA) told the Telegraph that many followers are prepared to vote with their wallets and steer clear of merchandise until the football club's owners have been deposed.
"Many [Manchester United] supporters now see the new Aon shirt as a symbol of the Glazer family's ownership rather than a symbol of the Manchester United we historically know and love," the representative stated.
Despite clearly visible dissent from football fans last season, the Glazers are yet to receive a serious takeover offer despite rumoured interest from the Red Knights group of businessmen.
Manchester United have been forced to issue repeated strenuous denials that season ticket sales have been threatened by a boycott and insist they remain on track for the new term.
