Tottenham Hotspur are optimistic that Haringey Council will back their latest proposals for the redevelopment of their White Hart Lane stadium, according to a report.
In May, the local authority turned down the English Premier League club's initial plans for a £400 million overhaul of the existing ground after English Heritage objected to the demolition of four listed buildings in the vicinity.
Speaking to Goal.com, a source close to the discussions said: "Generally the council is supportive of [Tottenham Hotspur] and committed to keeping a football club in Haringey, but obviously we have to consider all aspects of the application."
An initial public consultation will be held at the Haringey Sixth Form Centre today (June 24th) at which local residents and football fans will be given the chance to learn more about the project and ask questions about its potential implications.
If the blueprint is approved by Haringey Council, White Hart Lane will be expanded to seat 56,250 supporters.
