Recently-promoted English Premier League outfit Blackpool have unveiled details of the redevelopment of their Bloomfield Road home.
The current east stand will be replaced by another temporary structure which will seat 5,000 football fans, taking the stadium's overall capacity to 17,000 in time for the kick-off of the new term.
Speaking to BBC Radio Lancashire, chairman Karl Oyston said: "We've gone through every possible scenario, but the over-riding feeling was we wanted the largest capacity possible that we could for the start of the new season."
He hinted the football club's long-term plan is to build a permanent stand, but explained that it would have been impossible to build it in time for August, which would have left Bloomfield Road with just 11,500 seats.
Last month, Oyston told the Blackpool Gazette he had received planning permission from the local authority and that work on the ground will begin "as soon as is realistically possible".
