Indian businessman Saurin Shah says he is interested in taking the reins at English Premier League side Blackburn Rovers.
The Mumbai-based 35-year-old, who owns investment firm Qubic Sports and Entertainment, attended the team's clash with Arsenal last month and has recruited Rothschilds Bank to oversee the deal, which is expected to be worth around £25 million.
"We're serious," he told the Daily Mirror. "We're in negotiations. We've acquired the right of due diligence. We have the right of first refusal."
Mr Shah explained that the town's Asian population makes the takeover a "natural" option - although the club's board of directors are likely to be wary, as the tycoon's profile outside his native India remains low.
His uncle Niranjan, deputy chairman of cricket's Indian Premier League, confirmed to the Lancashire Telegraph that there is "serious interest" in the Ewood Park outfit and added that Indian football fans are "already excited" about the potential offer.
