St Mirren chief Stewart Gilmour has admitted the current board of directors has "nothing left to give" the Scottish Premier League football club and is actively seeking new financial backing.
Gilmour and his consortium took control of the Paisley side ten years ago when it was burdened by debts of £3 million and still based at the crumbling Love Street stadium, with each member of the group contributing £100,000 from their personal funds to the takeover.
Speaking to the Daily Record, he said he is looking for "fresh investment and new ideas", but added: "St Mirren will still be there long after me and my vice-chairman George Campbell and the rest of the directors have gone."
The chairman described his time at St Mirren as an "interesting experience" and joked that his tenure had not been conducive to "domestic bliss" at home.
St Mirren are also currently without a manager after former boss Gus MacPherson quit last month.
