Recently-promoted Blackpool have announced plans to extend their Bloomfield Road stadium after sealing English Premier League status for next season.
Work has been ongoing at the ground since 2001 when the local authority permitted its redevelopment, but temporary seating currently occupies one side and it will be the smallest ground in England's top flight next season.
Speaking to the Blackpool Gazette, chairman Karl Oyston claimed planning permission has already been obtained, adding: "There are no other issues, other than me agreeing terms with the builders and the architects."
Bloomfield Road's capacity will increase to 16,000 when the new east stand is completed and although it appears highly unlikely that it will be finished in time for next term, Oyston says construction will start "as soon as is realistically possible".
Thousands of supporters lined the town's streets earlier this week to welcome their victorious team home, after around one-quarter of Blackpool's population descended on Wembley for the Championship playoff final last weekend.
