Rangers followers have expressed concerns about the intentions of English property developer Andrew Ellis, whose protracted takeover bid for the club appears to be moving forward.
Ellis is believed to be meeting with senior figures from Rangers this week, but the chief of the Rangers Supporters' Trust has urged the former Northampton Town owner to come clean about his plans.
Speaking to the Glasgow Evening Times, Stephen Smith suggested current Rangers chairman Alistair Johnston is sceptical about the bid, adding: "I think we have taken a few cues from Walter Smith in the last few months and if he is concerned about [Ellis] then we, as fans, are concerned."
The tycoon confirmed over the weekend he is due to hold talks with majority shareholder Sir David Murray, but would not elaborate further.
Earlier this year, the Rangers Supporters' Trust were reported to be putting their own offer for the Ibrox outfit together, but this is yet to materialise.
