Thousands of Blackpool supporters have lined the town's streets to welcome their newly-promoted team, after their 3-2 playoff final victory over Cardiff City.
Around 35,000 fans - a quarter of the resort's population - descended on Wembley over the weekend and local businesses are also celebrating, with a multi-million pound windfall anticipated throughout the course of next season.
The Lancashire and Blackpool Tourist Board's Tony Openshaw described Blackpool's English Premier League triumph as "a huge fillip" for the region, adding: "We've already had bookings from companies who were making inquiries almost as soon as the final whistle was blown."
Despite an average attendance of just over 8,000 at Bloomfield Road last term, supporters turned out in droves along Blackpool's famous Golden Mile to show their appreciation for Ian Holloway's team.
Yesterday (May 24th), director Valeri Belokon told the Times that the Lancashire outfit will remain prudent in its spending this summer, to avoid the troubles experienced by Portsmouth and Hull City.
