Football fans in Bristol are petitioning the local authority to organise a series of events relating to this summer's FIFA World Cup.
Local resident Mitchell Morris set up a petition on Bristol City Council's website, urging them to turn the city's Millennium Square into a designated area where supporters can congregate during the course of the tournament.
Speaking to the Bristol Evening Post, Mr Morris said the idea would be a "positive step" for the local area, adding: "You think about going to a pub in town [to watch football] but you want to avoid them really, sometimes. You want to watch it outside with other fans and the community."
Council marketing team member Tom Scott told the newspaper that an announcement is imminent and claimed something "big" is in the pipeline, providing the necessary financial backing can be attracted.
England manager Fabio Capello has described the country's bid for the 2018 event as "perfect", despite a series of recent setbacks.
