Manchester United have made a new sponsorship agreement with South American wine producer Vina Concho y Toro, making the company the latest in a series of recently-acquired official partners.
Although the length of the contract and the precise amount of money involved have not been revealed by either party, it is understood that the announcement will take the total value of the club's endorsements to over £200 million.
In a statement, Concho y Toro's global brands marketing director Giancarlo Bianchetti said: "We wanted to find a partner who shared our commitment to excellence and Manchester United Football Club has developed into an immensely powerful global brand."
Manager Sir Alex Ferguson welcomed the arrangement, describing the Chilean winery as "a company with a lot of history" that has "always kept hold of its roots".
However, the deal is unlikely to appease unhappy supporters, who have voiced increasing discontent with Manchester United's unpopular American owners and their £720 million debt over recent months.
