Hull City 'confident' over Phil Brown severance deal

Football Clubs News

Hull City reportedly remain positive that they can reach a deal with former manager Phil Brown over his severance package.

According to the Hull Daily Mail, there is confidence at the club that terms can still be agreed with the ex-boss, who was on an annual deal of £1.4 million before going on gardening leave in March.

Head of football operations Adam Pearson met with Brown to discuss the remainder of his 13-month contract this week, but as yet there has been little suggestion that progress has been made.

Pearson is currently looking to cut costs at KC Stadium as part of efforts to ease the club's debt burden.

Among the measures he has taken so far is to request that the team's players accept lower salaries.

Hull City's financial pressures were made worse by their relegation from the English Premier League in the 2009/10 season, which will see them miss out on the lucrative TV deal enjoyed by top-flight sides.
