Representatives from Liverpool supporters' organisation Spirit of Shankly are to discuss their concerns with English Premier League chief Richard Scudamore.
Criticism of current Reds owners George Gillett and Tom Hicks has intensified this season after a disappointing showing on and off the pitch and an e-mail campaign orchestrated by the group has earned them a meeting with senior league executives.
Spokesman James McKenna criticised football authorities for allowing leveraged buyouts of teams to proceed, saying: "It isn't proper for the future and the finances of a club to be put in jeopardy for the sake of business and making a profit."
He suggested that league bosses have adopted a laissez-faire approach to the sport's finances and claimed they have failed in their "duty" to ensure sides are being properly managed and regulated.
Last week, Scudamore told the Times that the Glazer family have been "fantastic" for Manchester United, despite loading a £720 million debt on to the Old Trafford outfit.
