Sheffield Wednesday chairman Lee Strafford will speak to potential backers in a bid to secure financial support for the recently-relegated Yorkshire club.
The Owls' demotion to League One was confirmed after a fiery encounter with fellow Championship strugglers Crystal Palace, but Strafford is hoping that fresh funding will help the side weather the storm.
Speaking to BBC Sport, the chairman suggested the team's relegation could make them a more attractive proposition, adding: "Our revenues go down in League One, but our football costs also go down and the most important variable is us."
With arrears of £20 million to service, Sheffield Wednesday had been confident of completing a deal with American sports investment firm Club 9 Sport, but it remains unclear as to whether the group is still interested.
Earlier in the week, Strafford apologised to fans for the side's performances throughout the season, describing their slip into the third tier of English football as "a deflating experience".
