Manchester United fans in anti-Glazer protest

Slogans protesting the Glazer family's ownership of Manchester United were projected on to the side of Old Trafford ahead of last weekend's clash with Tottenham Hotspur.

The Guardian reports that the Manchester United Supporters Trust (MUST) flashed messages on to the glass front of the stadium's East Stand, encouraging fans to join the group and reiterating opposition to the current owners, who have come under increasing fire this season.

MUST chief executive Duncan Drasdo issued a warning to Manchester United's sponsors and suggested they could end up on the receiving end of supporters' ire, saying: "The commercial value of that relationship [with the club] is being diminished due to the unpopularity of the current owners."

Earlier this month, it was reported that the Red Knights consortium looking to take control of the side at the end of the season had been holding weekly meetings at the offices of a London financial firm, hoping to hammer out the fineries of a potential offer.
