Stoke City manager Tony Pulis says he will look to strengthen his squad in the summer, but the club will not spend beyond its means.

Speaking on Sky Sports' Goals on Sunday, Pulis said that although the Potters are aiming to further consolidate their English Premier League status, there is "no way in a million years" that they will pay over the odds.

The Welshman was also full of praise for chairman Peter Coates and commented on his dedication to his local club, adding: "Every season we stay up is another testament to him because he took a massive chance."

Pulis also hinted that Stoke City could seek to expand the Britannia Stadium in the near future. Since the side returned to the top flight in 2008, they have filled the ground for many English Premier League games and Pulis suggested that its capacity could be increased to 36,000.

The Potters have enjoyed two successful seasons since their promotion and currently sit 11th in the league table.
