The so-called Red Knights group of investors looking to take ownership of Manchester United are in the process of finalising their offer, according to reports.
It is believed they have been holding weekly meetings at the London offices of financial firm Nomura and now feel close to submitting proposals which have a realistic chance of forcing the Glazers out of Old Trafford.
However, analyst David Bick told the Independent: "The only thing that would force [the Glazers] to negotiate is a dramatic fall in revenue and the most likely way for that to come about is through a season ticket boycott."
Concern over the club's debts has mounted this season and the majority of the £80 million made from the sale of key player Cristiano Ronaldo has so far not been reinvested in the squad.
Last month, Manchester United froze season ticket prices for the first time in five years in an effort to head off any potential boycott.
