Lady Nina Bracewell-Smith, Arsenal's fourth-biggest shareholder, has reportedly hired financial experts to find a buyer for her stake in the club.
She currently owns 15.9 per cent of Arsenal's shares but is believed to have been unmoved by American Stan Kroenke's offer of £8,500 per share. Kroenke holds a 29.9 per cent concern and increasing it any further would force him to make a full bid.
A source told the Guardian: "It seems like she doesn't like the look of Stan's £8,500, otherwise she wouldn't have taken on a broker who would take a fee while they are at it."
The Islington side are also the subject of takeover interest from Russian oligarch Alisher Usmanov, whose Red and White Holdings firm owns 26 per cent.
In addition to his interest at the Emirates Stadium, Kroenke has confirmed he will purchase NFL team St Louis Rams. He already owns 40 per cent of the franchise and will now buy the remainder.
