Vladimir Romanov and the board of directors at Heart of Midlothian are willing to consider fresh investment in the club, it has been claimed.

Speaking at a meeting with supporters at Tynecastle on Wednesday (March 24th), director Sergejus Fedotovas said any new business proposal would be evaluated by the board.

However, he also insisted that Romanov remains committed to building a bright future for the Edinburgh outfit, who currently sit sixth in the Scottish Premier League.

"We have never said that we are closed to any proposal … As long as any proposal can benefit the club then we'll discuss it," Fedotovas commented.

Romanov took control at Heart of Midlothian in February 2005 and made an almost immediate impact with the controversial sacking of manager George Burley later that year.

The Lithuanian's approach has become less high-profile in recent seasons, with spending on players greatly reduced.

Hearts are currently seven points behind city rivals Hibernian and play Rangers at Tynecastle on Saturday.
