Manchester United chief executive David Gill has claimed the club have "a sensible business strategy".
The Old Trafford club are reportedly the subject of a takeover bid from the so-called Red Knights consortium, headed by Stockport-born investment banker Keith Harris, but Gill denies the club's current owners are working to an unsustainable plan.
Confirming a new sponsorship deal with Turkish Airlines, Gill told a press conference: "We are very comfortable and have a sensible business strategy that will continue for many years to come."
Last week, the second leg of the club's UEFA Champions League clash with AC Milan saw former Old Trafford hero David Beckham don a green and gold scarf at the end of the match.
Green and gold, the original colours of Newton Heath, have become a visible symbol of dissent against the Glazer regime.
It was also reported by the Guardian that a Manchester University student working at an Old Trafford catering outlet had been sacked for wearing a green and gold scarf.
