Cardiff City face a third winding-up order at the High Court today (March 10th), with HM Revenue & Customs pursuing £1.75 million in unpaid tax.
The Championship side had two previous cases adjourned after making a £1 million payment towards their outstanding tax bill of £2.7 million, but financial problems have continued to overshadow events on the pitch in Cardiff this season.
Bluebirds manager Dave Jones said that he hopes the issue will finally be resolved this week, allowing his team to focus on their efforts to secure promotion.
"It will be a big boost if the tax bill can be sorted out then everybody can relax and concentrate on the football," the former Southampton and Wolverhampton Wanderers boss said.
"We can't really influence it apart from winning matches and influencing people who might want to buy the club."
In December, the Welsh outfit reached a settlement regarding their longstanding debt of £15 million to former owner Sam Hammam's Langston Corporation.
Cardiff City currently occupy the final playoff place in the Championship table following last night's 2-0 defeat at Ipswich Town.
