West Ham United co-owner David Gold has suggested he is still optimistic about the possibility of his club moving into London's Olympic Stadium following the Games in 2012.
Speaking to BBC Radio 5 live, the businessman said he felt there was a "serious possibility" the proposal could go ahead as he is under the impression that the desire to keep the ground as an athletics venue is beginning to ease.
His and partner David Sullivan's plans were dealt a blow last week when Olympics minister Tessa Jowell insisted that the stadium will be used for athletics grands prix.
However, Gold stated that he believes a deal is there to be made.
"If that can be done, we would have a super stadium that could take the club to the next level," he commented.
Gold, who was previously the chairman at Birmingham City, took up the position of co-chairman at West Ham United in January.
