Bristol City have indicated that recent talks with local planning officials over the club's proposed new stadium development at Ashton Vale have been positive.

A spokesperson for the Championship club said they had submitted a request for the consideration of the plans to be moved back from the scheduled February 17th date, but he also suggested that progress has been made in key areas.

In comments reported on the Robins' official website, the spokesperson said that there had been "some very constructive discussions with North Somerset officers over the proposed new stadium".

Transport arrangements were among the factors stated to have been particularly constructive, although there are some parts of the proposals that still need work, such as parking facilities.

"The area committee has raised a number of concerns and I am pleased that the football club is taking those issues seriously," commented Nigel Ashton, leader of North Somerset Council.

Bristol City currently play at Ashton Gate, where a late equaliser from David Clarkson secured a 1-1 draw against Coventry City on Saturday (February 6th).
