David Sullivan has said that he plans to slash the wage bill at West Ham United by asking the players to accept a voluntary pay cut at the end of the season.
The businessman, who took over at Upton Park alongside David Gold last month, is willing to take drastic measures to reduce the east London club's £110 million debt burden.
Backroom staff will also be expected to accept a reduction in wages, with Sullivan claiming that "every position is overpaid, whether in administration or on the playing side".
He added: "We have already had people in senior positions offer to take a 25 per cent reduction to keep their jobs."
The former Birmingham City co-owner warned that West Ham United will face "Armageddon" if they are relegated to the Championship this year.
Gianfranco Zola's side are currently 18th in the English Premier League and have not won since Boxing Day, when they defeated bottom club Portsmouth 2-0.
