Burnley have announced plans to create the world's first 'football university' as part of a major development of Turf Moor.
The pioneering higher education centre would be built on the current site of Burnley Cricket Club, next to the Lancashire club's home stadium, while the rundown Weaver's Triangle area nearby would be converted into student accommodation.
Burnley chief executive and project leader Paul Fletcher said that the university would offer students the chance to "learn about every facet of the business side of the biggest sports industry in the world".
Other elements of the plan would see Turf Moor's David Fishwick stand replaced with a dual-purpose 'StadiArena' structure, allowing the ground to host major concerts and exhibitions as well as football matches.
Fletcher described the project as a chance for the club to leave "a massive legacy brought on by promotion to the Premier League".
The former Coventry City chief executive oversaw the development of the Ricoh Arena and also spent two years as commercial director at the new Wembley Stadium.
