Northampton Town have unveiled an unusual incentive for fans purchasing a season ticket for the 2010-11 campaign.
Supporters who buy their new season tickets before March 5th will receive a free seven-night holiday at a self-catering resort in Spain, the club announced yesterday (February 4th).
The League Two club are working in association with Avanti and Jackson Grundy to provide the offer, with adult season tickets at Sixfields starting from £199.
Speaking to BBC Radio Northampton, Cobblers chairman David Cardoza described the deal as "groundbreaking stuff".
He added: "You get a week's holiday and all your football for a season, it's a great deal."
Simon Chadwick, professor of sport business strategy and marketing at the Coventry University Business School, told the BBC that the offer could be "just the tip of the iceberg", with more clubs launching special promotions to sell tickets.
Northampton Town are currently 13th in League Two and travel to Dagenham & Redbridge on Saturday.
