Notts County executive chairman Peter Trembling has said that the club are on the verge of securing a major cash injection.
Alongside director of football Sven-Goran Eriksson, Trembling has been seeking new investors for the ambitious League Two outfit since completing his management buyout at Meadow Lane earlier this month.
He told BBC Radio Nottingham that the pair have made "immense strides" in recent talks with potential investors.
"Hopefully we will be in a position to announce some news in seven days on that and on the management side," he said.
Trembling revealed that the club are hoping for a cash boost of approximately £25 million and still aim to reach the English Premier League in five years' time.
Notts County are currently without a permanent manager following Hans Backe's sudden departure on December 15th.
Dave Kevan has taken temporary charge of the team and the caretaker boss oversaw a 4-1 victory at Burton Albion on Monday (December 28th).
