Portsmouth could fail to pay their players on schedule for the third time this season as unpaid debts continue to cause major problems for the club, it has been claimed.
The English Premier League's bottom team have already missed player payments twice, with clubs including Tottenham Hotspur and Watford yet to receive the cash they are owed in transfer fees.
According to the Daily Mirror, Portsmouth remain in "financial disarray" and will be forced to sell several members of the squad to raise vital funds during the January transfer window.
The newspaper reports that agent Jacques Perais has added to the club's woes by pressing for the payment of a £2 million fee he is owed for the transfer of Lassana Diarra, who joined Real Madrid for £20 million in January this year.
John Utaka is expected to be one of the first players to leave Fratton Park, as sources have indicated that the Nigerian forward is earning about £80,000 a week.
Portsmouth are currently three points adrift at the bottom of the table and entertain Arsenal on Wednesday night (December 30th).
