Notts County owners Munto Finance have put the club up for sale and are already talking to interested parties, it has been claimed.
BBC Radio Nottingham reported today (December 10th) that the consortium is now willing to listen to offers for Notts County, despite only acquiring the League Two outfit in July.
Meanwhile, executive chairman Peter Trembling is said to be planning a management buyout also involving Sven-Goran Eriksson, the director of football.
However, the Press Association reported that Eriksson is yet to be consulted about such a move and could leave his position if the uncertainty surrounding the club continues.
BBC Sport's Pat Murphy said that Munto Finance appear to have "lost interest" in Notts County, having promised major investment after buying the club this summer.
The takeover signalled the start of a turbulent period at Meadow Lane, with the true identity of the new investors coming under scrutiny and high-profile signing Sol Campbell walking out on the club after just one appearance.
