Crystal Palace 'must pay players to avoid walkout'

Crystal Palace players will be permitted to leave the club if they do not receive their wages in the next five days.

According to reports, squad members at the Championship outfit are yet to receive payment for November as owner Simon Jordan struggles with a cash-flow problem.

Under Football League regulations, Crystal Palace will be in breach of contract if the players are not paid by December 14th.

This raises the prospect of highly-rated youngsters such as Victor Moses and Sean Scannell being allowed to leave Selhurst Park for nothing.

However, manager Neil Warnock told the Daily Mirror this week that a "siege mentality" has now developed at the south London club.

"Simon explained the situation to me personally and I know how much he has put into the club. You just have to rally around," the former Sheffield United boss said.

Despite their problems off the pitch, Crystal Palace defeated Reading 4-2 at the Madjeski Stadium last night (December 8th), with Moses scoring twice.
