Blackpool has launched an investigation into how a temporary crowd stand failed and injured a fan during a game between the side and Preston North End.
Wesley Howson fell through the East Stand at Bloomfield Road when supporters surged forward to celebrate an equalising goal by Ross Wallace.
He dislocated his toe, sprained his ankle and had to stay in Royal Preston Hospital for the night, where he received an X-ray to see if any of his bones were damaged, the Blackpool Gazette reported.
In addition, a steward was knocked to the ground as the crowed spilled on to the pitch.
Wallace was booked after the referee said he incited fans to leave the stands and join him on the turf.
A spokesperson for the club told the publication: "We are aware of the alleged incident. We are doing our own investigation."
The representative stressed that the investigation has begun and that it will be concluded by the time that Blackpool play Barnsley on Saturday (December 5th).
