Every Wigan Athletic supporter who travelled to White Hart Lane on Sunday (November 22nd) will be offered a refund by the players, the club has announced.
Roberto Martinez's side slumped to a humiliating 9-1 defeat against Tottenham Hotspur, becoming the first English Premier League team to concede nine goals in a single match since Ipswich Town in 1995.
Captain Mario Melchiot said the Latics players had "badly let down" their travelling fans and will therefore provide a full refund of the match ticket price.
"This is a gesture we have to make and pay them back for their tremendous loyalty," the Dutchman added.
Supporters can claim their money back by contacting the ticket office at the DW Stadium before Friday December 4th.
Jermain Defoe scored five goals in Tottenham Hotspur's thrashing of Wigan Athletic, with Peter Crouch, Aaron Lennon, Niko Kranjcar and a Chris Kirkland own goal adding to the visitors' misery.
Wigan Athletic's next game is a home fixture against Sunderland on Saturday (November 28th).
