Norwich City boss Paul Lambert hailed the contribution of his side's travelling supporters following the 2-2 draw at Southampton on Saturday (November 21st).

Just over 2,200 Canaries fans made the 400-mile round trip to St Mary's, with the visitors earning a point thanks to second-half goals from Wes Hoolahan and Stephen Hughes.

Lambert, who walked across the pitch to pay tribute to the away fans after the game, was full of praise for his club's dedicated support.

"They have been absolutely terrific for us. They are a major part of this football club and our fan base is extraordinary," the former Motherwell and Celtic player told the Eastern Daily Press.

"We fill our stadium and I am sure if you added another tier on our stadium at this minute in time you'd fill it."

Norwich City are now unbeaten in four League One matches and the result saw Lambert's side move up to fifth place in the table, ten points behind top club Leeds United.

The Scotsman took over at Carrow Road in August after Bryan Gunn was sacked.
