Sousa wants derby support every week

Swansea City manager Paulo Sousa has urged the club's fans to regularly reproduce the passionate level of support seen during the south Wales derby at the weekend.

A capacity crowd of 18,209 packed into the Liberty Stadium to see the Swans defeat arch rivals Cardiff City 3-2 on Saturday (November 7th), with Sousa appreciating the feverish atmosphere created by the home fans.

The former Queens Park Rangers boss told BBC Sport that he hopes supporters will return to cheer on his side throughout the Championship campaign.

"I hope in the future that it can be like that against all opponents," Sousa said.

"This is what we have to improve. It is a call for more fans, as the way they supported us in the derby was important."

Swansea City enjoyed an average crowd of 15,186 last season, but attendance levels at the Liberty Stadium have fallen since former manager Roberto Martinez left to join Wigan Athletic.

Sousa's side are now unbeaten in ten games and sit in ninth place in the Championship table.
