Paul Barber, executive director of Tottenham Hotspur, has claimed that the club's new stadium will give them a major advantage over local rivals such as Arsenal and Chelsea.
The north London outfit recently unveiled plans to build a new 56,000-seater arena on a site next to White Hart Lane, which has been the club's home since 1899.
Speaking to the Daily Telegraph, Barber said that the development will be more "technologically advanced" than other football grounds in London, providing opportunities for lucrative sponsorship agreements.
He claimed that Chelsea, who have now ruled out a move away from Stamford Bridge, could struggle to compete with Tottenham Hotspur in terms of attracting major brands to their stadium.
"There's going to be the new environmental and technology factors. So some brands will actually want to associate with that rather than some old, established stadium," Barber commented.
He also said that new ground will be "more iconic" than Arsenal's Emirates Stadium, which opened in 2006 at a cost of approximately £400 million.
