Chelsea transfer ban stayed

Football Clubs News

Chelsea's transfer ban has been stayed by the Court of Arbitration for Sport (Cas) ahead of a final review of the decision.

FIFA ruled that, after inducing Lens player Gael Kakuta to break his contract with his club, the side could not sign any players until 2011.

However, Carlo Ancelotti's team appealed the decision and the organisation said that the sanctions are now suspended until a final ruling can be made.

As such Chelsea is now in a position to sign players from January 2010.

However, Ancelotti - who took on the role of Chelsea manager in July - told the BBC that he is currently perfectly content with the players he currently has the use of.

"At the moment, I'm very happy with the squad - these players - and it's not necessary at the moment to take new players," he told the news provider.
