'Jumbo screen' planned for Newcastle United stadium

Newcastle United managing director Derek Llambias has said that a "jumbo screen" may be installed at St James' Park as part of the club's plan to sell naming rights to the stadium.

Elaborating on owner Mike Ashley's recent announcement that the 52,000-capacity ground could be rebranded, Llambias also insisted that the stadium's traditional name will not be lost completely.

"Our intention is to put a package together that would include, for instance, stadium rights with a jumbo screen included in that sponsorship, which is great for the fans as well," he explained.

Llambias said that one potential new name for the stadium would be sportsdirect.com@St James'Park.

"We were never going to lose St James' Park [altogether], it was always going to be @StJames'Park," he added.

Ashley's plan to sell the naming rights to the stadium has outraged many fans of Newcastle United, who currently top the Championship table and face Peterborough United at home on Saturday (November 7th).
