Robert Kraft has said that he would still consider launching a takeover bid for Liverpool, given the right circumstances.
The owner of the NFL's New England Patriots was thought to be close to investing in the English Premier League club in 2005, shortly before it was sold to his fellow Americans George Gillett and Tom Hicks.
Now Kraft, who is due in London this weekend for the match between the Patriots and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers at Wembley on Sunday (October 25th), has revealed that he still follows developments in English football with some interest.
Asked whether he could still envisage making an investment at Anfield, the 68-year-old said: "Yeah, in the right situation. I love the game."
However, Kraft also claimed that the English Premier League should alter its football finance rules and introduce a salary cap to make the competition between clubs more fair.
"I don't like losing and at some point it's not economic, people just throwing money at it," he commented.
The Patriots have won the NFL Super Bowl three times since Kraft purchased the franchise in 1994.
