Fabio Capello is one of several high-profile football figures supporting the One Game, One Community campaign this week.

Starting on Thursday (October 15th), the nationwide initiative will be coordinated by Kick It Out and aims to promote diversity, equality and anti-discrimination in English football.

Over 1,000 events are due to take place across the country as part of One Game, One Community, with several English Premier League stars acting as ambassadors for the campaign.

England boss Capello said that football's status as "more than a sport" can help to break down barriers and encourage people to live together without prejudice.

Meanwhile, English Premier League chief executive Richard Scudamore said he was proud of the competition's diversity, with over 60 different nationalities now represented among its players.

"The Premier League spreads a message of equality and inclusion throughout the game and beyond," he commented.

Established in 1997, Kick It Out is football's equality and inclusion campaign. The organisation is funded by the game's governing bodies, including the English Premier League and the FA.
