Swansea City offer free bus travel for football fans

Swansea City are providing their supporters with a special travel deal for matches at the Liberty Stadium.

Football fans travelling to games by rail can now take a bus service from the train station to the ground at no extra charge, thanks to an agreement between Swansea City and local transport operators First Great Western, Arriva Trains Wales and First Cymru Buses.

Club chairman Huw Jenkins said the offer is a way of rewarding the fans for their loyal support, as well as lessening the carbon footprint associated with Swansea City.

"Not only are we trying to give something back to the fans, but we are also hoping more people will make the environmental switch from car to public transport in a bid to help ease congestion around the stadium on match days," he told the Championship club's official website.

Jenkins said the new "seamless travel ticket" will be available at all rail stations in south and west Wales.

Swansea City beat Sheffield United 2-1 at the Liberty Stadium on Saturday (September 26th), despite being reduced to nine men after Jordi Lopez and Nathan Dyer were shown red cards.
