Sir Bobby Robson will be remembered by football fans around the UK when his memorial service takes place at Durham Cathedral today (September 21st).
Some of the biggest stars in British football are expected to attend the invitation-only ceremony, which will also be screened live for fans gathering in Newcastle and Ipswich.
Gary Lineker, a member of the England side that Sir Bobby steered to the semi-finals of the World Cup in 1990, will lead the tributes to his former manager.
Other football figures due to attend the service, which will feature a performance by Welsh soprano Katherine Jenkins, include Sir Alex Ferguson, Fabio Capello and Pep Guardiola.
Football fans will visit St James' Park and Portman Road to watch the ceremony and pay their own tributes.
Born in County Durham, Sir Bobby won the FA Cup and UEFA Cup with Ipswich Town before succeeding Ron Greenwood as England manager and going on to manage clubs such as Barcelona, PSV Eindhoven and Newcastle United.
He died in July at the age of 76 after a long battle with cancer.
