Rotherham United chairman Tony Stewart has said that he is close to confirming the location for the club's new football stadium.

Speaking to the League Two side's official website, Stewart explained that negotiations with local planning officials are ongoing as the club seeks to establish a new permanent home.

The South Yorkshiremen are temporarily based at the Don Valley Stadium in nearby Sheffield after leaving Millmoor in 2008.

"I know there is frustration among everyone on concrete news with regard to the new stadium, none more so than myself … I have to accept that these things do take time," Stewart commented.

"All the relevant parties are being extremely proactive behind the scenes and what I can absolutely, confidently say right now is that things are really starting to take shape."

Rotherham United are currently without a manager after Mark Robins left the club to join Championship side Barnsley.
