Accrington Stanley have thanked their local rivals after fans of several different teams attended their match against Darlington on Friday night (September 11th).
In a bid to help the East Lancashire side out of their current financial trouble, supporters of nearby clubs Blackburn Rovers, Burnley and Bury turned up for the League Two match.
According to thisislancashire.co.uk, the extra support contributed to an attendance of 3,228 - the highest at the Crown Ground so far this season.
Bury supporter Carl Mason told the news provider last week why his club felt obliged to offer some assistance to Accrington Stanley, who are attempting to raise £308,000 to settle an outstanding bill with the Inland Revenue.
"When Bury were having financial problems in the late 1990s, Stanley played us and donated all the proceeds from the game to us. This is our way of returning the favour," he explained.
The additional support also seemed to boost the home side's performance on the pitch, as they beat Darlington 2-1 after Billy Kee headed in a late winner.
