Portsmouth football club chief executive Peter Storrie has confirmed he will be staying on at the club following its buyout by Sulaiman Al Fahim.
Former owner Alexandre Gaydamak decided not to agree to Mr Storrie's bid for the club and instead chose the Arab businessman.
That decision had left Mr Storrie questioning his position at Fratton Park, with suggestions that he could leave the club.
However, with the new Premiership season having got underway, Mr Storrie has announced he will continue in the role of chief executive after Mr Al Fahim had told BBC Radio Solent he wanted Mr Storrie to remain in the role.
"I've had hundreds of emails of support from fans. You don't expect that and that helped with my decision, without doubt," the chief executive told the BBC.
Mr Storrie has also revealed Portsmouth were close to going into administration before Mr Al Fahim's bid was approved.
Such an event would have had significant consequences for the club, with a points penalty likely to have been placed on the club for the current season.
