Birmingham City manager McLeish excluded from Yeung talks

Birmingham City manager Alex McLeish has revealed that he is yet to have any contact with the club's prospective new owner Carson Yeung.

The Hong Kong businessman is in the process of sealing an £80 million acquisition of the English Premier League outfit.

However, with the takeover still yet to go through, Birmingham City co-owners David Gold and David Sullivan, alongside Karren Brady, have barred McLeish from holding any talks with Yeung.

McLeish said: "I spoke to Karren earlier in the week and she tidied up a few things that I needed to ask. I'm not allowed to do that unless I get the go-ahead from Karren Brady and the two Davids. I think that they will only allow that once it is a done deal.

"I'd be happy to speak to Yeung, but only if my employers sanction it. There's a few things that I would like to ask but I'd want to keep that for a private meeting."

If the takeover does go through before the end of the transfer window on September 1st, Yeung has already told McLeish that £5 million will be made available to strengthen his squad.
